Equipment hire business VP released interims, which broker Berenberg considers “at least in-line” with its expectations. Revenues rose 23% to £176m and pretax profit 134% to £20.2m - 54% of Berenberg’s full year forecast - and came in the context of a market exiting lockdown restrictions. The UK more than doubled profit to £21.8m (H1 ’21: £9.9m) with major infrastructure projects, such as HS2 supported by buoyant housebuilding activity. The AMP7 (water) and CP6 (rail) infrastructure programs have seen some delays but VP expects volumes to improve in H2 and beyond.
