Revenues are ahead of expectations in H2 to date with Print -3.5% and digital +17.2% versus Singer Capital Markets’ expectations for -8.9% and +12.8%, respectively. That meant overall sales rose 1.2%, a huge improvement on the 11.9% decline since 2019, with digital up a staggering 39% on a two year basis. Rather excitingly, Reach increased customer registrations from 6.7m to over 8m and if this run rate is sustained it could hit 12 million by end 2022 (thrashing its 10m target).The strong performance was partly driven by stabilised print advertising and circulation but mainly better yields from digital advertising as better targeted audience data improved return on investment for advertisers.
