Shares in meat processor Cranswick registered a new high of almost £55 over the month, almost £15 above my front page write-up price in March ‘24. This follows another high quality year with revenues up 6.8% to £2.723bn, adjusted operating profit increasing almost 12% to £207m (3.5% above forecasts) with operating margin growing 0.5% to 7.6%, helped by investment into vertical integration, scale, efficiency and automation. Capex was £138m including two value-added Hull poultry sites (£29m); Worsley houmous and dips facility (£25m); and Hull pork primary processing expansion (£62m), increasing capacity from 35k to 50k pigs per week.
