Cohort - Shares soar towards £16

The shares soared again to £16 at one point after Cohort’s year-end update revealed trading in line, but with NATO bending over backwards to appease Trump again with talks of European defence spending budgets hitting 5% GDP by the 2030s, investors are betting on still more “beats” in future. Reflecting the trend, Cohort’s order book improved 12% year-on-year, while net cash of £5m beat expectations. Divisionally, Communications & Intelligence reported solid growth and improved net margin to 17% while Sensors & Effectors was broadly flat with net margin down 0.2% driven by a weaker margin mix at SEA and delays / one off project costs at CHESS.
