B&M European Retail - New CEO acquires shares with prospective PE in single digits

I’m frankly staggered to see shares of discount retailer B&M European Retail unravel from over 610p in late 2023 to a recent low of around 272p - below even its 2014 IPO price. The culprit was a rare pause in profit growth for the year ended March 2025, pinned on a cocktail of external headwinds: the sixth-wettest May on record flattening garden sales, a late Easter that slipped beyond the fiscal year, muted real wage growth among its core shoppers and a general mood of consumer caution.
