Airtel Africa, which I originally featured at 115.5p in January and again as a main write-up last month, is bucking the wider stock market sell-off after founder and Chairman, Sunil Bharti Mittal, invested a mammoth £216m at 132p on 21 February (now holding 61.7%) and it could break out at any time with the spin-off of Airtel Money expected later this year. Airtel Africa introduced me to the emerging market for renting out bandwidth on telecom towers (the tall structures designed to support antennae for telecommunication and broadcasters) across Africa.
