In the current climate momentum doesn’t come much better than at greetings cards group Card Factory, which has issued four “ahead of” updates since last November. In that time pretax profit forecasts for the year ended January ‘23 have been cumulatively raised a massive 80% by broker Investec, coming in at £52.4m (eps: 12.2p) versus £11m in the Pandemic riddled FY’22. For the current year pretax profit forecasts were £55m but could go higher still. Founded in 1997, the company operates a vertically integrated low cost model, with a well-invested and scalable production facility in Baildon Yorkshire producing over 210 million cards per annum with capacity  to flex up to 400 million.
