I3 Energy - Fast growing energy producer offers high yield

Oil & gas plays typically fall into one of two camps; those that have little cash and remote hopes for a jam tomorrow discovery and those generating plenty of cash today from already producing fields. When it listed in 2017, I3 Energy fell into the first camp armed only with some modest UK exploration assets. However, in a remarkable turn in fortunes the company, led by CEO Majid Shafiq, who previously spent 17 years in energy investment banking, availed of the once in a lifetime market dislocation caused by the Pandemic to acquire some high quality assets in Canada at knock-down prices.
