In what is an “off-year†for its two largest biennial events Tarsus produced strong interims with pretax profit of £3m and eps of 1.5p, up from £1.8m and 1p in 2012. Adjusting for biennial exhibitions like-for-like revenues rose 9%, while forward bookings are 9% ahead. Performance from emerging markets was the strongest with turnover of £11.1m and profits of £2.8m compared with £7.3m and £1.5m in 2012. In Dubai, forward bookings for its largest event, Middle East Business Aviation, are tracking ahead of its previous edition whilst in China, the first edition of SIUF (underwear show), following its acquisition in April, performed well, as did its central China joint venture, Hope.
