Indonesian palm oil producer MP Evans posted a 49% increase in operating profit to US$61.7m. Eps increased 65% to 63.3 cents. This was driven largely by pricing with mill-gate CPO +43%, albeit partially offset by a 27% rise in cost per tonne. Volumes were unchanged but a strong performance in July and August means they have increased 5% year to date. Pricing has since pulled back in recent months due to lower demand following the Ukraine related price spike alongside numerous changes to the Indonesian tax and export regime, albeit now stabilized.Production from the company’s owned hectares increased 4% to 556,800 tonnes in 2021.
