Restaurant operator, Prezzo, joined AIM on 22 March following a placing  by Beeson Gregory of 3.25m shares at  50p to raise £1.3m.  The shares closed the first day at 89p, a premium of 79%.  The most likely explanation for this amazing performance is that investors have noted the presence of Philip Kaye,  Prezzo's joint founder and largest shareholder, who holds 53% of the equity.  Kaye, who remains as a consultant  to assist  Prezzo withstrategy  and site determination, had previously founded andsuccessfully built up the Golden Egg and  Garfunkels restaurantchains (now City Centre PLC).  After that, he helped his sons,Adam and Sam Kaye, to huge success in expanding pizz ...
