IG Design has completed its largest acquisition to date of CSS Industries, a US-based designer and manufacturer of gift packaging, seasonal décor, greetings cards, creative play and stationary products and giftware. Consideration for the deal is c. £90m including CSS’ debt. At a stroke it cements its position as the leading global one stop shop for retailers within the mass market, craft, food & drug, discount, gift and specialty segments of the US.Having itself made a number of acquisitions CSS is not far off being half the size of IG Design and is expected to deliver net sales of between US$346m-US$352m and EBITDA of US$22.1m-US$24.1m for the financial year ended March 2020.
