Swallowfield released strong interim results and there was a useful in-fill acquisition, which drove upgrades.For the six months ended 6th January revenue was £40m (2017: £39.7m) while underlying profit increased 11% to £3.4m. Encouragingly, the higher margin Owned Brands division has increased its share of sales to 31% from 25% a year ago. Net debt rose from £5.5m to £7m after £1.85m final deferred consideration for Brand Architekts.Although Contract Manufacturing (aerosols, deodorants etc) saw a 6% reduction in sales to £28.7m and 10% profit fall to £1.9m, it was up against tough comparatives and trends are positive.
